The Service

Dundee Housing with Care service is recruiting a Senior Support Worker for our Housing with Care services across Dundee. Providing care and support to older people living independently with underlying health conditions and/or physical disabilities. Senior Support Worker will work as part of four teams to deliver a high standard of care and support to individuals to help them to achieve their agreed individual outcomes, and to advise, support and supervise the staff team under the guidance of the Service Manager whilst adhering to the standards set out by the Scottish Social Services Council Codes of Practice and Hillcrest Futures Policies and Procedures.

 

You Will

As a Senior Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide direct support to individuals as agreed in individual Personal Outcome Plans. 
  • Undertake case co-ordination responsibilities with, and on behalf of individuals and be an effective team member.
  • Work effectively with all stakeholders and mentor and support the induction of new staff whilst contributing to team learning and development. 
  • Take lead responsibility for a defined area of practice in the service, as negotiated and agreed with the line manager and assist the line manager to provide professional leadership to the staff team and ensure regular team meetings are held, and formal supervision is delivered to all team members in accordance with procedure. 
  • Take the lead on, and contribute to service improvements and support the line manager to ensure that the individual needs of individuals are met through Outcome Planning, reviews, and ensure that relevant outcomes plans are in place. 
  • Have already attained an SVQ2 in Health and Social Care and also either hold an SVQ3 in Health and Social Care or have the willingness to undertake study to achieve this.
  • Be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post.
